I am clearly very happy with my results. I really was not too confident after the quant section. I thought some of the later questions seemed on the easier side. I was also pretty rushed for the last 7 questions or so.
I declined the break and was pretty focused for the verbal--finishing about 22 minutes early.
I am older (38), working full time, and have a 4 year old, so my studying probably wasn't as intense as some. I basically did the PR, Kaplan, and Manhattan GMAT over about 5 weeks. Flailed for a number of weeks really not doing much. Then I concentrated on really rocking out the practice questions in the OGs. I ended up not finishing about 25 OG questions for each section but did all of the in the Verbal and Quant breakout OGs. I did do 2 of the Manhattan GMAT online tests (I found them pretty challenging).
Resources Used:
PR Cracking the GMAT
Kaplan Premier Program 2008

OG Verbal and Quant
GMAT 800 (a little)
Manhattan SC Bible
GMAT Prep score:
730 (day before test).
770 (V: 48, Q:48). Very happy!

I get a feeling that jpthomas is a native English speaker, and as I glance through the forum, I'd guess a large portion of the forum does not fit jpthomas' profile.samesame wrote:Mad prop's you make it sound easy almost........care to comment on the verbal? Everyone has been making it sound like a nightmare.
You probably know best regarding your true verbal level given your background and study progress, so do not let the forum sway your confidence, and most people would tell you how important confidence is for GMAT.
Thanks for the props!
I was actually struggling with the Verbal in study a bit. I was an English major in college, though. I really thought the environment at the testing center was pretty good and helped me to focus.
