760 (Q50 V44) It's All Over.

by wharton750 » Sat Sep 11, 2010 10:38 am
The worst 3 months of my life are officially over. I took the GMAT this past Thursday and managed to score a 760. I'll try to breakdown exactly what I did to get to the ever so coveted, 99th Percentile.

Prep Material
OG 12
Manhattan Set https://www.manhattangmat.com/storeitems ... 29&catid=1
Benchmark GMAT https://www.benchmarkprep.com/gmat
GMATprep tests
Powerscore CR Bible https://www.powerscore.com/gmat/content_index.cfm

Timing:
I studied 3 hours on weeknights and 8 hours on the weekend.

Test-day experience:
I scheduled an early appointment and had a banana, some water and a piece of dark chocolate at the break. Oh, the most important thing also is to write yourself a time schedule before the test begins...Basically write Q5 Q10...each with a corresponding time that you want to reach so you can check the question number and your time on the test and be sure you're on pace. The mod will strictly tell you to not write anything down before the test begins, ignore him!

That's it basically. Hope I wasn't all over the place with my post. [/img]

Congratulations..! You tamed the beast indeed.

Btw, I have not heard of Benchmark GMAT before. Can you review the prep course?

SURE!

OG 12: #1 resource for questions as it should be for everyone.

Manhattan Set: I can't stress these enough. The SC is still the best and the quant guides are great as well.

Benchmark GMAT: They helped me get used to doing questions and practice tests on a computer. Their questions were very similar to the ones I found on the real test.

Powerscore CR Bible: This is a great and must have book for the verbal section. I would also suggest taking a few LSAT practice tests for the verbal portion (I took 5).
