710 (Q42, V44) Cautiously happy

by Tangerine » Tue Feb 26, 2008 1:04 pm
Gave the GMAT today, landed up with these numbers:

Quant - 42 (66 percentile)
Verbal - 44 (97 percentile)
Overall - 710 (93 percentile)

I will post a debriefing soon, many thanks to all the great contributors to this forum!

I'm quite happy with my score but I'm also worried that it's heavily weighted towards verbal(?), and might give me problems with admissions. Any point in retaking it?

Hi
If this is your first try its good if you retry . You can increases your chances of admission better. Better now than later, coz your mind is fresh.

All the best.

the best thing to do is to contact the admissions offices of the schools that you are interested in applying to and see what they say. congrats on the great score.

I think it depends alot on your background. If you are from an engineering/finance or other technical background I don't think it should matter too much since you've shown that you are technically capable. Also, if you had a good undergraduate GPA that should take some weight off of your Quant score. I would definitely not take it again risking the potential of not doing much better and possibly scoring lower...

Hope this helps!

P.s.

Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.
