If you're sitting for the GMAT soon and concerned about your practice exam scores - don't be. I was you just a few days ago googling "practice vs actual gmat" and trying to regain my confidence. Please don't pay too much attention to the scores you're receiving and focus on why you're receiving them. If you get some questions wrong that's good - it means you have problems to dissect and can still get better. I think confidence on test day is very important and your score will swing depending on how you feel. I've put my practice scores below for encouragement:

GMAT Prep 1 - 640
MGMAT CAT 1 - 580
MGMAT CAT 2 - 640
MGMAT CAT 3 - 590
MGMAT CAT 4 - 670
MGMAT CAT 5 - 590
MGMAT CAT 6 - 630
GMAT Prep 2 - 670

Hi lxwarr30,

That's great news about your Official GMAT. Your advice hits on an important point: once you dissect a problem you've gotten wrong and you understand WHY you got it wrong, you have to fix your mistake so it doesn't occur again (especially if the problem was a silly mistake; those types of mistakes tend to kill Test Takers). Also, what you refer to as "confidence" is really a combination of having the proper attitude to succeed and the will to do the necessary work on Test Day. The GMAT gives you the score that you EARN; your 710 is a clear indicator of the work that you did on Test Day.
