7/27 step by step calculation method?

I've hit a complete blank on how to calculate this one and convert it into decimal points the easiest way.
Please help.

7/27 = 70/27 * 10^-1 (which also means divide 70 by 27 [which gives 2.59] and then place the decimal one place left i.e. 0.259].

Is there an actual step by step method to get to 2.59?
