Hi tacet2,

First off, a 690/Q47 is a great score (it's just shy of the 90th percentile) - you shouldn't be concerned about the percentiles unless an Admissions Expert tells you that a specific school would be bothered by them.

To that end, what schools are you planning to apply to?

I am looking into top 15 schools, such as Haas, Anderson, and Duke. However, I've heard that some admissions officers care more about the quant section. Is that true?

Hi, 690 is not a bad score. But, when you will go for admission into top 15 school, there may be hard competition for you with this score. It would be better to retake your GMAt. Best of luck.

Hi tacet2,

Certain MBA Programs (especially Finance Programs) place a much higher emphasis on the Quant Scaled Score than the other scores that come with your Official Score Report. The Q47 is in range for all of the schools that you named, so if you were "wait-listed" by any of those schools, your current GMAT Score would not be the reason why.

All of those schools are competitive though, so you might want to speak with an Admissions Expert before you make any decisions. If you do end up retesting, then you won't need too much additional study time, but you will have to emphasize the little details in your work. A handful of silly/minor mistakes on Test Day is why you didn't hit 700+.
