Hi!

I took the GMAT on 04/28. I was hoping to break into 700+ club but then, it was not to be!

1. Profile: Indian male with 10 yrs of work exp in IT (Project/Program Mgmt & Software development)

2. Books/Resources:
a) OG 11 + Verbal & Quant review
b) All 7 guides from MGMAT
c) 6 MGMAT tests + 2 GMATPrep tests
d) Frequent visits to beatthegmat.com for inspiration and tips!

3. Duration: 2-3 months.
a) Took off on Thursday/Friday so got 4 days to review before the test on Monday. Gave 1 test a day to gear up for the final day!

My MGMAT scores ranged from 600 to 680. GMATPrep scores were 700 and 720. MGMAT (especially QUANT) is tougher but it prepares you well for the actual test!

Thanks to Eric and everyone involved with this forum!
All the success stories posted here have motivated me to take this test after almost 10 years since I left graduate school!

I'm still finalizing the schools to target. Suggestions are welcome, especially about business schools here in US. Or should I retake and target 700+?

1) Which tests you rate closer to actual gmat ... MGMAT OR GMATPrep tests
2) what akk resources you used for Maths prep ?

1. GMATPrep. But then, MGMAT would also be close (except some of the real tough ones in 700-800 range).

2. I used OG11, OG Quant review and all 5 books of MGMAT.

Remember the following formulaes:
- nth number and sum of n numbers of an arithmetic progression
- Distance between 2 points in X-Y plane (Co-ordinate Geo).

I'd also say that in q of 700-800 range on the real exam there are some tricky questions that test your ability to combine the knowledge of probabilities, geometry and algebra, something that I didn't see on both gprep and mgmat.
