610 on GMAT... What are your thoughts?

So I just finished my first GMAT today and my unofficial score is a 610 (Q39 V35). I have a background in Industrial Design (3-years experience) and have been studying for a little under a month (on oct 10th I scored a 530 on a Kaplan prac test). If I am shooting for the Jan 15th deadline most schools offer, should I focus on the application process alone or try to finalize my application and retake the GMAT? What is your opinion on the relevance of a creative background in the B-school application process?

Which schools are you targeting? If you are targeting top 20-30 schools, then i would advise you to go for GMAT once more.
