Hi..

I am preparing for the last 3 months.. Today i gave my Gmat Prep 1 and got the following scores : Q48 , V23 , Total : 580..

Analysis : Quant ( Incorrect 13 ) ; Verbal ( Incorrect : 16 )

Correct Incorrect
PS 14 ; 5
DS 10 ; 8
CR 6 ; 5
SC 10 ; 7
RC 9 ; 4

Few Q nos i got incorrect in Verbal were : 7,8 ; 13,14 ; 27,28 ; 30,32,33,36,39,41

I was left with around 20 mins to complete last 15-16 Qs in Verbal part.. In verbal i had to guess a lot of Qs as i was having timing Issues which i think affected my score badly.. plzz help me to improve my score as i am targeting a Score of 700+ and planing to give my Gmat on August 7,2010...

Thanks..

Schools are a little more forgiving of the verbal in general especially if English is not your native language. HAving said that, you should probably consider a prep course which focuses on verbal. Not to sound like a commercial, but Veritas will let you take a prep course only for verbal, which saves time and money. There are likely other prep courses that do the same thing--I am just more familiar with Veritas. If you decide to get consulting help on your essays, make sure you don't let anyone "handle" your essays too much, as an applicant with a lower verbal score turning in overly polished and perfectly articulate essays would be suspect. A professional consultant would not do this, but if you let friends or aquaintences edit your essays, they may tend to want to "help" you too much which could backfire. Hope this helps and good luck.

Received a PM asking me to respond.

Your post looks really familiar. I think I already responded to you over on the MGMAT forums earlier today. In fact, I know I did - nobody else could have those exact same numbers!! :)

Because I already responded over on the MGMAT forums, take a look over there and we'll continue the conversation there.
Please note: I do not use the Private Messaging system! I will not see any PMs that you send to me!!
