568. Originally published in 1950, Some Tame Gazelle was Barbara Pym’s first novel, but it does not read like an apprentice work.
(A) does not read like an apprentice work
(B) seems not to read as an apprentice work
(C) does not seem to read as an apprentice work would
(D) does not read like an apprentice work does
(E) reads unlike an apprentice work

I think tha answer is A. Please confirm!

IMO C and D are incorrect because they include 'would' and 'does' at the end which changes the meaning of the sentence. It would make the sentence read something like...'apprentice work reads'...whereas it is being read.
B is incorrect since it uses 'as' to compare two nouns - 'some Tame Gazelle' and 'apprentice work'.

I think this question is also discussed in one of the other threads as well though I dont remm the name of the thread correctly.
I have started to realize that I am the one!!!
