Thank you so much for the advice.I would really appreciate if you can help me in quant.I need help in solving the data sufficiency questions basically.I am left with just 15 days and targeting for 600 plus which right now seems to be impossible to me right now.so can you help me in systematization of my preparation so that i can reach my goal.Most of it i can easily spend 5-6hrs in studies.I want to do any possible preparation to reach my goal but i lack in strategy.

I know my first post has been deleted. I am working on getting it restored,but here is the general summary of what I said-

I have been studying on and off for the last several years. I have taken the Princeton Review course twice, I have taken the test several times (370, 490, 510). My studying was very inconsistent. I have made some changes and come up with a new plan. I am looking to get into the Boston College Evening MBA Program (Carroll School of Management).

My new course of action has several key points-
1. Study at a library and not at my apartment
2. Maintain an Error Log
3. Learn from mistakes (quality over quantity)
4. Study consistently (1-1.5 hours weeknights, 4-5 weekends/6 days a week)

Study materials-
(2) The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th Edition (both came with the courses)
(1) The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 11th Edition
(1) The Official Guide for GMAT Quantitative Review, 2nd Edition
(2) The Princeton Review Manual For the GMAT Version, Verison 8.1 and 8.2 (both came with the courses)

I just wanted to provide a quick update, my latest CAT test was 550. This was at the beginning of Febuary. I think this is the best I performed in practice. I hope to use it as a spring board.

Hi all,

Just another quick update. I took my second CAT and got the same score. It looks like my Quant score has gone up. I am happy because I was expecting it to go down.

I locked in my test date for April 7th. More updates to follow.

Found one of my old TPR score reports from the first course from back in 2009.

Based on what I've seen it looks like I've been jumping 50 points every year since then.

I am going to poke around and see if I can extract any more information from this.

Does anyone know/can pull old CAT reports from the TPR system long after the courses were completed?

Just a quick update regarding the Princeton Review Manual(s) For the GMAT Version. I had previously said I had Versions 8.1 and 8.2. The correct copies that I have are 8.2 and 8.3

I took my test and it did not turn out well. 510. This is what i scored on my third practice test after scoring two 550s in a row. I am still applying to 5 schools, all part-time, all in the Boston area. We will see if I can get in the envelope with that.

One piece of advice that I can attest to is what I read in Lucas Weingarten's article, 'The GMAT Needs a Runway'. Respect the test. When I was younger I took the test (three times) and prep cavalierly and that has turned out to be a major black spot on my record. I believe I will have to wait some years until my scores expire to re-take the test if I don't get in this round.

I believe there is some way for me (and most people) to get a good MBA. Some other options include online/distance (at respectable schools of course) and re-applying and/or transferring. Unfortunately I am worried about losing the B-school experience (first with part-time, then to online/distance), but the degree is what is important.

Hi all,

I just wanted to give an update on my applications-

I have been accepted to the Boston University Part-Time program for 2012.

Additionally, I have been wait-listed for Boston College. I have submitted a third recommendation in hopes of making it to the accepted list. More info to come.

I was planning to apply to Babson, Suffolk, and Bently, but I think I am going to stick with my original top two choices since I have received a favorable reply.

ghosthawk68 - any update on the waitlist status for Boston College? I am waiting to hear as well. Do you know when we should hear?

@abcd123 Sorry about the late response- I was not accepted after being wait listed.

However, I did reapply the following semester and was accepted. I am not sure if I am going to enroll since I am in the process of completing my first semester at Boston University's School of Management.
