I think Yes

IMO-E

(E) have a serious impact on industrialized nations and severely diminish the possibility of having

IMPACT may cause a possibility=> action of impact will be continuous=>so present perfect.

Buddy... "on" is a preposition.. it can only link noun, pronoun and phrases..
In C seriously = adverb and impact is used as a verb.. so "seriously impact" cannot be the object of the preposition.

But in E serious = adjective and impact is used as a noun and so now you can use "on"..

I am opting for E.....

Here is my reasoning.....
(A) Impact on is correct idiom...
(B) Adjective modified noun not adverbs hence serious is correct usage
(C) Same as B
(D) The possibility of is correct idiom...hence D is wrong
(E) Correct. serious modifies noun and possibility of is used...

"possibility to" is incorrect. "possibility of" is the right construct. So we have a 3:2 split.

Between C and E, C is incorrect as "seriously impact on industrialized nations " is flawed.

So answer should be E.

I dont think "possibility of" is less acceptable than "possibility to"? Please comment.

I agree with D. I think the two sides of "and" should be parallel and "having" does not support that...

seriously and severely are adverbs modifying could and hence are parallel

A, B, D out for using possiblity to, when it should be possibility of.

C & E left...

A /B /C are x....everyone agrees?

1.) Replace Could with CAN... and the sentence should make sense

This check alone with eliminate A/B/C

Could -> is a conditional possibility

2.) The error i found with E and D-> Meaning of the sentence

original sentence uses: Diminish

D --> impede
E --> Diminish (CORRECT)
