The answer is C) and I think the process is 10^8 - 10^3, but I could not figure out how n+1 is related to the answer... Can anyone explain?
ok what the q basicall y says is that if on the scale at n the reading is say "a " .. then on the smae scale the reading for n+1 wuld be "10*a" ...

... so applying this logic to theq .. if the reading at 3 is "x" ... then the reading at 4,5,6,7,8, is 10*x,10^2*x,10^3*x,10^4*x,10^5*x respectively .. so as u can see the reading at 8 is greater than the 3rd by 10^5 ...
