5 times n is three less than twice n.
We can write: 5n = 2n - 3
Subtract 2n from both sides to get: 3n = -3
Solve: n = -1

What number is three less than twice n?
In other words, we want to find the value of 2n - 3
Replace n with -1 to get: 2(-1) - 3
Evaluate to get: -2 - 3 = -5

Answer: A

Answer is A.

Rewrite: 5n = 2n - 3
Subtract 2n from both sides to get: 3n = -3
Solve: n = -1
Replace n with -1 to get: 2(-1) - 3
Finally: -2 - 3 = -5
