I'd like to confirm what you've written, just to make sure that I understand how you practiced:

You self-studied using books but did not take ANY practice CAT tests before you took your Official GMAT? Is that correct?

If that's the case, then your problems will be relatively easy to fix. You need to change your study plan, add some new study materials (and practice CAT tests) and put in some more time.

Most Test Takers need 3 months of solid study time to hit their goal scores. Since you've done some work already and you've experienced the GMAT, you have more knowledge/experience than someone who is just beginning, so this next attempt should be easier.
