If x and y are integers and 2 x - y = 11, then 4 x + y CANNOT be
(A) -5
(B) 1
(C) 13
(D) 17
(E) 55

Given 2X-Y=11 And X AND Y are integers.

X=(11+Y)/2;..................(1)

from (1)

4X+Y= 22+3Y.

From the options, only D does not satify condition.

Say 22+3Y=17
3Y=5.

AS question states Y as integer, there is no integral value for 'y' satisfying 3Y=5.
