Dear All,

I am a frequent visitor to this website and need some advice on my current situation. This will be my third attempt at cracking the GMAT.
My previous scores were:

- 480 (wrote it in Jan 2008)
- 600 (wrote it in Aug 2008)

I will be writing it again on 5th Jan. I am much better prepared compared to the last couple of times but wanted to know how long should i wait before i start writing the practice exams. I have taken two weeks off before the exam.

Thanks and Regards,

Raj

If you mean you are prepared, then that means, you have done OG11 Quant twice, and OG verbal atleast once.

The level you will get in GMAT quant will increase on each correct question. So, if you intend to crack GMAT third time, then you have to do the kind of questions in OG 11 diagnostic test with ease. All the questions in that diagnostic test are of >680 level.

Regarding GMAT Prep, take one GMATPrep 1 now to see the level you are at.
Practice your stamina and concentration with MGMAT or Kaplan.

Towards the test do not hesitate to take the GMAT Prep multiple times ( 5 or 6 ) times, as GMATPrep is the closest you can get. In each test follow the 10 min for every 5 quant questions, and 9 min for every 5 Verbal questions.

68 58 48 38 28 18 8
5 10 15 20 25 30 35 Quant

67 58 49 40 31 22 13 4
5 10 15 20 25 30 35 40 Verbal

One thing I want to let you know is, Reading Comprehension and Critical Reasoning are more important. If you lose out on one or two RC passages, your verbal score will be come down drastically.

Best of Luck !!

Hi GMATGoal,

Thanks for the reply. I have done OG11 once along with the verbal and quant review and the manhattan book except the RC. Can you please let me know apart from GMATPrep which other tests should i focus on? MGMAT or Kaplan?

Raj
