Of the employees at the company, 70% received bonuses of at least $10,000, 40% received bonuses of at least $50,000, and 20% received bonuses of at least $100,000. If 60 employees received bonuses of less than $10,000, how many employees received bonuses of at least $50,000 but less than $100,000?

Its better to plot a number line in these kind of questions.

--------10,000--------50,000--------100,000-------- ..representing salaries in '000

-----30%-----|------30%----|-----20%------|----20%-|..representing % figures

Hence we have 30/100 * x = 60 .. where x represents total number of employees.

So x = 200

We want to find number of employees between 50,000 & 100,000 which is 20% , so 20% of x = 20% of 200 = 40.

Answer E.
