I am writing to you with a hope that your answer will help me get a hold on my nerves. I have visited every university's website that is ranked between 1-30. Each of these universities ask for a four year degree. Of course there are exceptions where the entry requirements vaguely states "Degree" which again is confusing.
I have completed my BA in Business & Finance from Heriott Watt university, Edinburgh. Its an ordinary degree (3 years) with an avg. scoring of 65%. This was never a problem until i learned that most universities don't even consider your application if you hold an ordinary degree. I have attended many education fairs where i learned that the top notch universities have a standard entry criteria consisting of :
Good GMAT scores
Minimum work experience of 2-3 years
and finally a 4 year degree.
Now since i do not hold an Honours degree, what measures can i take to ensure that my ordinary degree does not rule out my application from even being considered.
I am an Indian currently residing in Kuwait and am currently employed at one of the worlds largest shipping & logistics co. Frankly, I cannot afford to spend a substantial amount of money to secure an honours degree. If a 4 year degree is a must, what can i do as an alternative? Someone advised me to take up a masters course in India completing the 1st year which will then be considered as a fourth year. Is this true? Does it stand equivalent to an Honours degree?
