Hi Math Gurus - need some enlightment
i got 3 gmat prep 2 questions wrong .. could u tell me how to attack them., with the logic.
All of them are DS.

Qs 1.
if MV < PV <0>0 ?
1. M < P
2 M < 0

Qs 2.
is x + y < 1 ?
1. X < 8/9
2. Y < 1/8


if c and d are integers is c even ?
1. c(d + 1 ) is even.
2. (c+2) (d+4) is even.

I had a chuckle witnessing your posting troubles.

Anyway, the question stem reveals that the product of two variables is negative, which means that the variables cannot share the same sign. One must be neg while the other must be pos, but which one is which?

Statement 1: If M < P, then two possibilities exist.
Either both M & P are neg, and thus makes V pos.
Or, M & P are pos, and thus makes V negative.
INSUFF

Statement 2: Since M is neg and MV < 0, then V must be positive.
SUFF

Choose B
