First off, this is a great forum. I have been hanging out here for a while now and noticed that this is a wealth if informaiton.

Thanks.

Lot of the prep guides suggest taking one of the GMAT prep tests first to assess where i stand. This doesnt sound right to me.

I am planning on getting the (Manhattan number properties + OG quant+ OG gmat review+Kaplan workbook+ fveritas perp combinators and probability) for MAth, get these done in weeks 2 thru 5 as per the suggestion.

But my question would " when should i start taking full lenght tests? Should i wait till i learn the math concepts first, then do practie questions and maybe do full lenght tests on week 4 or 5?

Also should i save the gmat prep tests for the later part so i would have the actual questions for when i am more prepared?

thoughts?

I did not do the GMATPrep test myself and saved it until I had may be 5 weeks to the exam. But I would suggest you take atleast one practice test. There are quite a few out there. You would where you stand and then tailor your study plan accordingly.

3 weeks in the prep. Only done with Kaplan GMAT math workbook. I know I know. I need to pick up speed.

my worst areas.

data sufficiency problems with ratios, hours worked, proportions

word problems with ratios, probability, hours worked, proportions

any suggestions on where i go from here? I am thinking the official guide. Should i get the combinatorics book someone was referring to in this forum?

i need a lota work on data sufficieny. I coulndt even understand some of the solutions, it is pretty demoralizing. I thought i was pretty good in math until i looked at these.

it requires two to three layers of thinking like the movie inception!
