Among any 3 consecutive integers you will find either 2 numbers one of them a multiple of 2 and the other a multiple of 3 or one number which is multiple of 6. Hence when you multiple 3 consecutive numbers the product will be a multiple of 6.

From the above list 116 is the only number which is not a multiple of 6.
Hence the answer is C.

If p is a positive integer and
r = p(p + 1) (p + 2), then which of the
following could not be a value of r?
A. 6
B. 36
C. 116
D. 156
E. 180
B,C,D and E could not be a value of r. 6 could be a value of r.

Thank you for your explanation. Can you please tell me what are the three consecutive numbers that give 36 when multiplied.
