I took the GMAT for a second time yesterday and the worst possible outcome occurred - a 600 again (42Q/31V). First time was a 600 (39Q/32V). I took two months off between the last time I took the GMAT and started studying again. I prepared for ten weeks using the Manhattan eight-book study guides and OG12. I thought I was well prepared as my practice scores were consistently above 600 (see below), so I was shocked and very disappointed with my performance. I was also surprised with the large drop in my verbal score - not sure what happened. I did spend seven weeks of my prep time focusing on quant as my verbal scores suggested I was already doing well. I never took both AWAs during the practice tests and I did notice I was tired after the quant section, so not sure if that played a factor. I feel that I should retake it given the large discrepency between my practice scores and actual score but am discouraged. I do not plan to begin studying until Feb 2011 given the upcoming holidays and work commitments. Any advice on future studying would be helpful. Thanks
