In an examination, there are 100 questions. For correct answer, 5 marks are awarded but for each wrong answer 2 marks are deducted. Which of the following marks could be obtained?
a) 192  b) 193  c) 194  d) 195  e) 196

x=no of correct
y=no of incorrect

x+y=100
5x-2y= plug option answers

only A satisfies.

X + Y = 100
5X - 2Y = A Assume one of the five choices
Eliminate Y
7X = A + 200

Test for A = 192
7X = 192 + 200 = 392 = 7 * 56

Hence A

i just checked 57*5-43*2=199
then 56*5-2*44=192

so answer is A
