#### 2 men and 3 women can finish a piece of work in 10 days...

Tue Mar 06, 2018 2:07 pm
2 men and 3 women can finish a piece of work in 10 days. While 4 men can do it in 10 days. How many days can 3 men and 3 women take to finish the same work?

A) 8 days
B) 10 days
C) 12 days
D) 14 days
E) 18 days

The OA is A.

I'm really confused by this PS question. Experts, any suggestion? Thanks in advance.

We can solve this question using some common sense
In fact, we don't even need the information from the 2nd sentence (4 men can do it in 10 days. )

GIVEN: 2 men and 3 women can finish a piece of work in 10 days.

How many days can 3 men and 3 women take to finish the same work?
This new work crew has the same number of women as in the given information, AND it has 1 extra man
Since one extra man has joined the work crew, the new crew will finish the job in LESS THAN 10 days .

Only one answer choice is LESS THAN 10 days

Cheers,
Brent
