I think it should be E.
Statement I
area of both triangles are same.
Its better if you draw a figure without the two lines parallel. The figure could just be a quadilateral.
Therefore Insufficient.

AD=DC
we dont know anything about the other two sides.
Therefore insufficient.
Combining I & II
If look at both the statements, they are saying almost the same things.
Therefore Insufficient.
