Tell me an easy way to solve this ..

12 to the power 12 minus 12 to the power 11 .
Is there an easy way to get past such problems ?

(12^12 - 12^11)
= 12^11(12 - 1) ... Take 12^11 outside as it is a common factor.
= 11*12^11

Are you asking anything more easy?

I think motive of such calcuation is always make sure that you can identify common element between them or not
or eg

2^10-2^9
2^9X(2-1)(much easier)

i agree with 2 it seems easy but i think same principles applies of must of them.
Just a note.

Oh that was kool, i was think that taking the 2nd thing common would make the 2nd expression zero but where it is 1.
I was in another world i guess
