258. During her lecture the speaker used map to clarify directional terms, for not everyone in attendance was knowledgeable that winds are designated by the direction from which they come.
(A) for not everyone in attendance was knowledgeable
(B) for everyone in attendance did not know
(C) with everyone in attendance not knowing
(D) with everyone attending not knowledgeable
(E) for not everyone attending knew

attendence is wrong-- ABC out
We need subordinate conjuction to join 2 clauses , and not knowledgeable is wrong,therefore D is out.
So, IMO E.

The OA is E as mentioned above.

Still dont get it y is attendance wrong.
I had chose b. Can you please explain a little more in detail.

Look into this piece of the information from the original sentence.

not everyone in attendance was knowledgeable

this means that some people attending the class might be knowledgeable about the direction of the wind..

However, look into answer choices B,C and D. All of the below choices say that everyone attending the class did not know about the direction of the wind. These choices distort the meaning of the original sentence.

(B) for everyone in attendance did not know
(C) with everyone in attendance not knowing
(D) with everyone attending not knowledgeable

Now, between A and E

E is more succinct.

(B) for everyone in attendance did not know - changes meaning
(C) with everyone in attendance not knowing- changes meaning
(D) with everyone attending not knowledgeable- changes meaning
(E) for not everyone attending knew - correct
