Method is a noun hence it should be followed by for diagnosing. In A,B and E involving is modifying disease instead of coronary angiography. The same error is repeated in D where "that" refers to disease. In C involves correctly acts as the modifier of coronary angiography.

Is there a specific rule saying that a noun should be followed by "for" and not "to" ?

I don't thing there is any such rule. But I saw a lot of such cases and therefore zeroed on it. Guess it is context specific.

I think "to diagnose" and "for diagnosing" both can be correct depending on the context.
In D, the sentence implies "coronary disease involves the introduction ...". But actually it is Coronary angiography that involves the introduction...

E is awkward. implying heart is now administered selectively

Picked D ,,, is method for the correct usage. Any thoughts

Using C: Coronary angiography, a sophisticated method for diagnosing coronary disease, involves the introduction of dye into the arteries of the heart and is now administered selectively, because it uses x-rays to observe cardiac function.

I believe that here using 'and' forces parallel structure between involves and calls for to add 'that it' to make the rest of the sentence a clause connected by the conjunction 'and' as below

Coronary angiography, a sophisticated method for diagnosing coronary disease, involves the introduction of dye into the arteries of the heart and that it is now administered selectively, because it uses x-rays to observe cardiac function.

However, some say, as below, that the 'involving' modifies 'coronary disease'. How strong an argument is this?

Regarding method for/to: it's not that it's a noun, it's just the idiom of "method." The word "way" would happily pair with the infinitive.

AS someone already pointed out:

D can't be correct since it implies that the disease involves the introduction of a dye into the arteries of the heart, but in fact it is the method which implies the introduction.

It can't be E since the "uses" at the end because the readers does not get to know why the method is administered selectively now.

C is correct because it is the only remaining sentence which correctly continues the phrase "Coronary angiography .... involves ... and ... because..."
