8. A huge flying reptile that died out with the dinosaurs some 65 million years ago, the Quetzalcoatlus had a wingspan of 36 feet, believed to be the largest flying creature the world has ever seen.
(A) believed to be
(B) and that is believed to be
(C) and it is believed to have been
(D) which was, it is believed,
(E) which is believed to be

Im not convinced that answer is C

Others modify wingspan or are just wordy and awkward. So answer is C

THe conjunction "and" is really unaccounted for here..if you believe the answer is C..

even i doubt if this is the correct answer..but i cant pinpoint to any answer :(

Well, I am going to open this very old discussion again.

the verb "to be" is incorrect and does not go parallely with "had" (verb in past tense). Hence it is incorrect
