Eliminate A, B and E becue they lack parellelism ....to seek and to increase....

(C) among Britain’s first national museums to seek support of
to seek support of corporations and private donors
I never saw such expression. 4me "support from" sounds better

(D) among the first of Britain’s national museums to seek support from
to seek and to increase.... - OK
support from.... - OK

support from - correct

eliminate B,C,E

(A) one of the first of Britain’s national museums seeking support from - awkward construction - eliminate

'D' - less awkward but still poorly written - pick D
