758. The golden crab of the Gulf of Mexico has not been fished commercially in great numbers, primarily on account of living at great depths—2,500 to 3,000 feet down.
(A) on account of living
(B) on account of their living
(C) because it lives
(D) because of living
(E) because they live


Oa is C. I have a doubt i thought 'on account of' is bettter than because , hence a or b could have been the ans. please explain

C is great choice no other options are not close.
a) on account living has a missing pronoun reference
b) Although the error in a is fixed here the pronoun used is plural subject verb donot agree
c) most correct option
d) same error as in a
e) same error as in b
