Perhaps, this is a bad question to study because it looks like one of those questions stacy comments on "bad question! dont study!" :- )

not sure though!!so till then..................
let me know your explanation too if you get it right!!

School desegregation has worked well in Buffalo, New York, in part because parents and teachers were given major roles in designing the city’s magnet schools, becauseextra federal funds were allocated to make each school unique, and because the federal judge enforced desegregation orders.
(A) because extra federal funds were allocated to make each school unique
(B) because of the allocation of extra federal funds that make each school unique
(C) because each school is made unique by allocating it extra federal funds
(D) extra federal funds were allocated in order to make each school unique
(E) extra federal funds were allocated for making each school unique

Are you sure the answer is E. The reason is:

The word "because" is used in the first clause and the last clause, so it must be used in the second clause. Hence - D,E get ruled out. I prefer A.

yeah, the OA given in 1000 sc doc is E.

i saw it some where else also it is the same answer.
But dint get the explanation anywhere!! :(

I don't find a flaw with A

See the Bold Face Part. They are perfectly parallel

I don't know how E!
