Yes but do so because they have something to continue the sentence. Right now I don't have the book to give the specific example. But if you check then you can find such questions at the end of sentence correction sentence or may check the modifier section of KP-800.

Basically you need participial to complete the sentence. The earlier part will act as a modifier to it.
