1 year VS 2 year US MBA Program

by trinity22 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 12:07 pm
Fellow BeatTheGmatters,

I am currently researching 1 year US MBA programs, and would like to get your feedback.

About me:
Female
34
Undergrad in Business - decent GPA
Professional experience: 10 years
Roles - Business Analyst, Product Manager
Other activities: Painting, Photography, Travelling, Volunteering for seniors, mom of a 2 year old

Current practice GMAT score - 640; Goal: 700+

Since my undergrad is in Business and my previous roles have been more on the business side, than technical, I am considering one year programs. I like my current field; I can see myself thriving here. However, I wonder about other exciting opportunities that a 2 year program might introduce. One year is more practicle and will be a lot less demanding on myself as well as my family. But, like I said, I wonder if 2 year would present better opportunities...

WOuld love to hear your comments on this issue and if you recommend a particular school. Currently, I am looking at Kellogg. Any other good one year programs out there that you guys are researching?

You can also look at Johnson:

And you would have a LOT more choices for one year programs in Europe, as most of the programs there are one year.
