Any word on admits?money9111 wrote:Decisions are out today!
I plan to apply R2. I just took the GMAT and will spend the holidays working on essays and having friends and family critique my drafts. I will write a debrief of my GMAT experience, including my profile in another post, but here is a sample:
32 yrs old, 9+ yrs engineering exp, 5.5 w major aerospace/defense corporation (2 promotions recently), 2.5 GPA B.S. electrical engineering from top 35th nationally ranked university, M.S. systems engineering (achieved part-time while at current company) this time with a 3.7 GPA. GMAT: 630, with plans for a retake after R2 deadlines (with hope schools will take an improved score before a ding). ECs: treasurer of a career networking group at work, asst/head coach with Team In Training for triathlon/5k/10k, cross-country and track teams in college, still competitive with running/triathlons and will compete in an Ironman in May raising money for Team in Training (Leukemia Lymphoma Society). Lastly, my father did his undergrad at Yale, class of 1961. Would that help my chances if any?
The strength of my profile is my work experience, which I believe will significantly add to classroom discussions. That said, it can only compensate for my GMAT so much. Given my profile, what GMAT score do you think I'll need to get an admit at Yale?
Thanks,
Scott
