Since the average (arithmetic mean) of the 4 numbers n + 2, 2n - 3, 4n + 1, and 7n + 4 is 15, we have

[(n + 2) + (2n - 3) + (4n + 1) + (7n + 4)]/4 = 15

=> 14n + 4 = 60 => n = 4.

The correct answer: B

Average = sum/number

sum=n+2+2n-3+4n+1+7n+4=14n+4

Average=14n+4/4

given Average=14

14=14n+4/4

n=4

We can use the average formula:
average = sum/quantity
15 = [(n + 2) +(2n – 3) + (4n + 1) + (7n + 4)] / 4
15 = (14n + 4)/4
60 = 14n + 4
56 = 14n
4 = n
Answer: B
