Consider the following two examples,
  • a = -2, b = -1 --> a*|b| = -2 < (a - b) = -1
    a = -2, b = 0 --> a*|b| = 0 > (a - b) = -2
Both of the above examples follow both the statements, but the answer to the question is YES in the first case and NO in the second.

Hence, both statements together is not sufficient.

The correct answer is E.
