Wolf population

Minnesota is the only one of the contiguous forty-eight states that still has a sizable wolf population, and where this predator remains the archenemy of cattle and sheep.

(A) that still has a sizable wolf population, and where
(B) that still has a sizable wolf population, where
(C) that still has a sizable population of wolves, and where
(D) where the population of wolves is still sizable;
(E) where there is still a sizable population of wolves and where

Down to C and E, but fell for C. OA: E

the sentence is basically checking for parallelism...

Also I believe there should be no comma to begin the second clause, since anyways u r using the conjunction 'and'

C should definitely be crossed out as option A is better than option C
'wolf population' vs 'population of wolves'

IMO: E
verb is consistent with the rest of the sentence and the sentence uses parallel construction.

A/C - comma + and is always wrong unless they are independent clauses.
B - 'And' is missing without which the sentence seems incomplete.
D - With the usage of ';' this predator seems to refer to Minnesota itself which is wrong.

A/B/C - moreover uses that instead of where. Where is preferred here, the construction is as similar as that ... and that

Hence E.
Getting defeated is just a temporary notion, giving it up is what makes it permanent.
