The questions says lx-yl > lx-zl

Until unless we know the exact value or signs (+ or -) of x and z or x and y we cannot answer this question.

Statement I.

xyz<0
x could be on the left of number line
y could be on the left of number line
z could be on the left of number line

or x could be positive, y could be positive and z negative

Therefore insufficient.

Statement II.

xy<0

x could be positive, y could be negative or vice versa.
it does not tell us anything about z

Therefore insufficient.

Combining Statement I & II

xy<0 & xyz<0

x is positive y negative and z positive.
x negative y positive and z negative.

Insufficient.

Hence E.

This is best done if drawn on a number line..

(i)xyz<0
=> either x, y or z is negative...NOT SUFFICIENT

(ii)xy<0

=> either x or y is negative...It doesnt tell which one is negative.So NOT SUFFIECIENT.

Taking 1 and 2 we can c z is positive for sure. But still we dont know which one of x and y is negative.If x is negative then y and z would be positive and since xz >xy, z would be in between x and y.
But if y is negative then x would be in between y and z and still xz > xy.
So its inconclusive.Hence E
