Does Low^2 GPA hamper chances to get in2 B School?

Hello BTG users!

I am getting ready to apply for Fall 2013 session. I have one question - Does my low GPA in UG will stop me from getting in to B Schools?
Schools I will be applying -
Cox Business @ SMU
Goizueta Business @ Emory
Kenan-Flegar @ UNC
McCombs @ UT Austin
Jones @ Rice

MY Profile:
I have two UG in Engineering
UG1 GPA - 3.7
UG2 GPA - 2.X [I wish I'd Party Hard enough! but that was not the reason... :( ]
Prof Exp - 12 Years in the field of Energy/Sales Operation - at Senior Level
Prof License - 2
GMAT - I will be taking soon! but I stand around 670ish in practice!

I may apply for Full-Time or Professional MBA program at few of these schools.

Do I have a chance to get in or....!!!!?????

A low GPA will make it more challenging for you to get accepted into a top program, but MBA admissions reflect a holistic approach. Your GMAT score, essays, professional experience, and letters of recommendation will also be taken into account. However, you should look at the class profiles for admitted students to better gauge how your stats compare. For example, Kenan-Flagler's mid-80% GPA range is around 2.80 - 3.80, and your 670 GMAT is below the mean. Just be sure to tell a good story and explain any mitigating circumstances (did you work full-time when you earned that sub-3.0?).

Your age may also raise some flags. With 12 years of work-experience, many schools may questions why you aren't pursuing an executive MBA.

Yes - I did work fulltime (60hrs/18credits at times)- Crazy! and I do regret it!

I dont think my employer will pay for $$$ schools I want to go ( I believe) and I don't want to go back to school while working atleast this time around....LOL

Also, I am looking to change ship after MBA so i don't want ask my employer to pay for it. I think I can manage on my own!! ( I may sound crazy here!)

Any suggestion on possible approach?

depending on what that X is you'll have to make sure that you explain WHY it was that low but not as an excuse, more of a this is what i learned about myself type of deal... Also note that a 2.9 is different from a 2.1.
My goal is to make MBA applicants take onus over their process.
