Say the speed of Jeff is 60 mph; thus, he runs 60 miles in 1 hour. Since Laura's speed is 50% more, her speed would be 90 mph. Thus, she would take 60/90 = 2/3 hours = 2/3*60 = 40 minutes.

The correct answer: C

Hope this helps!

Since Laura’s rate is 50% faster, or 3/2 of Joe’s rate, her time is 2/3 of Joe’s time. If it takes Joe 1 hour, it takes Laura 2/3 of an hour, or 40 minutes.
