How many positive integers, from 1 to 100, inclusive, are not divisible by even integers greater than 1?

(A) 5
(B) 6
(C) 8
(D) 10
(E) 50

The OA is E.

Can any expert explain this PS question please? I don't have it clear. Thanks.

If an integer isn't divisible by any even numbers, then this integer must be odd. So the question is just asking how many odd values there are between 1 and 100, inclusive. The answer is E, 50.

Since every even integer is divisible by 2 and no odd integers are divisible by 2 or any other even integers, we need to determine the number of odd integers from 2 to 100 inclusive, which is:

(99 - 1)/2 + 1 = 50

Answer: E
