Q.Mario's Pizza has 2 choices of crust: deep dish and thin-and-crispy. The restaurant also has a choice of 5 toppings: tomatoes, sausage, peppers, onions, and pepperoni. Finally, Mario's offers every pizza in extra cheese as well as regular. If Linda's volleyball team decides to order a pizza with 4 toppings, how many different choices do the teammates have at Mario's Pizza?

Number of crust options = 2.
From 5 toppings, the number of ways to choose 4 = 5C4 = (5*4*3*2)/(4*3*2*1) = 5.
Number of cheese options = 2.
To combine these options, we multiply:
2*5*2 = 20.

Hi Priyaranjan,

Mitch's solution to this question is spot-on, so I won't rehash any of that math here. However, as you continue to post questions in this Forum, you should make sure to post the 5 answer choices along with the prompt. With certain questions, knowing the answer choices can provide a potential shortcut for the work involved or an alternative approach to solving the problem outright.

Solution:

Since there are 2 choices for the crust, 2 choices for cheese, and 5C4 = 5 choices for four toppings, there are 2 x 2 x 5 = 20 choices for pizzas with four toppings.
