Hi,
I have recently read an article saying that the GPA is very important for admission to the top programs (just like the GMAT), here is the link if you want to read: https://poetsandquants.com/2013/08/07/th ... -averages/

Hi Abdullah,

A GPA is one component that admissions committees look at when evaluating applicants. However, that said, they post average GPAs for a reason. For one, it is a strong indicator of your ability to handle academic rigor. Secondly, it factors into rankings.

A 2.5, unfortunately, is very low. With a 2.5, you'd actually have to get above a 720 on your GMAT (closer to a 740) to offset it and, even then, it wouldn't erase it. Anything below a 3.0 is a red flag and a 2.5 is a significant issue.

Since you're still in undergrad, I would recommend two things. One, pull it up before you graduate. Then, after you're done undergrad, take a course or two on the side to build an alternative transcript.

There's no way around it - a 2.5 is going to cause you some headaches.

Good luck!
