Hi Everyone! I am looking for a good review course to get started with. It's been nearly a decade since I have done any type of algebra in a classroom setting and my verbal is quite frankly an embarrassment for an American born. From my understanding the OG course has the hardest problems on it(correct me if I am wrong). I want to get a book that will ease me into the GMAT and from there continue to work on harder and harder books. Any recommendation for the starting point? Thanks!

1)Download gmatprep software from mba.com.It has 2 diagnostics test and these tests will be the best for your future assessments.The software also has 90 questions spread equally across ps,ds,cr,rc and sc.They will indicate the areas of improvements and strengths.

2)Buy OG13(bible for gmat).After practicing every questions review your mistakes. Maths and verbal supplements 2nd edition can also be bought for more practise.

3)Specific strategy books

SC- Manhattan and Aristotle 3rd edition
DS- Manhattan
CR- Manhattan or power score bible (I study from aristotle)
RC -Manhattan and OG13 will be enough
PS - Manhattan

Not sure why you got that impression, Alexander. Folks generally start off with the OG to get the basics sorted out and then move to specific material depending on where they need additional support.

If you aren't keen on taking up the OG, there's plenty on BTG to get you started.

The OG books are great for practice questions, but they're not the best for showing you GMAT-specific strategies for solving questions. By "GMAT-specific," I mean "fast and effective."

Also, if your math skills are a little rusty, you'll want a resource that makes no assumptions about your mathematical foundation and starts with the most basic of concepts. Our video-based course (GMAT Prep Now) does just that, as I'm sure others do as well.
