HELLO,

I am looking into an EMBA progam that waives the gmat requirement. I meet all the general class profile requirements. However, my only weakness is I have 4 years of work experience (due to my age). I was told that a team fit is most important and and my particular skill set that I am brining to the table is pretty important. I respect this program and would liek to attend. Given my situation, how can increase my level of "fit" for the team? Also, how can I become more of an asset to the program?

Did your talk with someone on the admissions committe or was this information something you got from other applicants, current students or alumni of the program? My guess is that the message the person was trying to convey is that you need to communicate in the application process why you believe you will be a valuable addition to the class. With only 4 years of experience, I am assuming you are on the low end for an Executive program. So, you will want to make sure you demonstrate you have the maturity level to work on teams with folks with greater than 10 years experience. Likewise, you will want to highlight the quality of your work experience--supervising staff, budget responsibility, etc.

I do have one last question. THe company I work for is pretty small in fact its only 3 people. ALthough small, it is quite lucrative. Can this be a problem also since its not a 200-300 reputable person company. Is there a way for me to send my resume over to you to see how to add value to my situation or "sweeten the pot"? Small companies do not put you at a disadvantage, per se, in comparison to large companies. It is what you do at your job and its impact on the company the admissions folks are interested in knowing about you.
