Need advice on which books to refer

by anubhav1989 » Fri Jan 28, 2011 8:40 pm
Hi,
I'm planning to write my GMAT in July end. I haven't started preparing. Please can anyone suggest me which book to start from and how to plan my preparation i.e. what all study material to refer and in what sequence. Please consider this that I'm more weak in English rather than maths so advice me accordingly.
Looking forward for replies soon.

Thank you
Anubhav Agrawal

I'd advise you to search through the forums and look for suggestions on books. Though there are books like Cracking Verbal by Princeton Review which covers all the different areas on the Verbal section, but that is good if you're targetting between 500-600. If you're looking for scores beyond that ,you may wanna get books which target each specific area such as SC, CR and RC and the various topics in Maths. I am using Manhattan Math Strategy Guides for tackling the Quant section and think they are really good. For Verbal, I think Manhattan SC Guide and Aristotle SC Grail would suffice .Both books will help you tackle SC questions properly. For CR , you may wanna go for Powescore CR Bible or MGMAT CR Guide. I have both and I find CR Bible to a better option. Though I haven't started with RC yet as I am quite tied up with SC and CR in Verbal, but I plan to go through MGMAT RC Guide for strategies and OG12 RC passages and RC99 for practise .

Anubhav, July is a long time, probably you should come up with a 90 day study plan, anyways depends upon you, piggychops(powerpuff) pretty much covered what books u need to buy.
Cheers !!

Quant 47-Striving for 50
