I got 530 But I am going to try again

Reading the comments I got confused. I got 530 q47/v38, and I see people who got 720 with almost the same percentile. Why is that? Can I get 720 if I focus a little bit more on Verbal?? I thought that getting a score over 700 meant percentiles over 70...

Which software program are you using? The split you indicated in your post is Q 36-37 (around 47 percentile rank) and V26 (around 40 percentile rank). The actual GMAT would give you only the scaled scores. Try GMAT Prep which can be downloaded from www.mba.com. The score percentile that you indicated tell us something. For example, that your percentile for math (Q) is below 40 means that you have limitations in concepts tested on GMAT. The score percentile for Verbal may show different aspects of your strengths and weaknesses. Try analyzing the correct and incorrect answers in Verbal part and identifying whether you made more mistakes in SC, CR or RC.

Hope this helps.
