need advice on sending the GMAT score at the end of the test

Hi,

I am a 23 year old Indian female.
I have done B.Tech (61%) from Mumbai University.I have a two and half years of experience in Sales.
I have scheduled my GMAT on 27th January 11.
Looking at my test scores I think I will score in the range 670-720.
I want to get admitted in a GOOD B-school in September-2011.
So I would like to have your advice on which 5 schools should I send the score to at the end of my GMAT.

I am interested in doing MBA or MS in US,UK,Canada or Singapore.
I don't want to take a huge loan.Hence I would be grateful if you can suggest me universities which can offer me scholarships up to 80% of my tuition fees.
Are there any chance of me getting into a good B-school considering the fact most of the deadlines have already passed

Dear prachich1987,

Since you will be an international student, you need to verify the application deadlines for schools you are considering as many have a specified cut-off date for international applicants that is earlier than for domestic applicants (primarily in the US). With your late applications, this may or may not be an issue depending on the schools you determine are the best match for you. Identifying a program is more than determining where you can receive a scholarship--it is a personal choice based on whether or not a program can meet your needs in terms of curriculum, resources and connections to actualize your goals. I encourage you to read our sticky on school selection for tips on identifying programs that might be a good match for you. From there, you will want to do some research on programs and their deadlines to come up with your list. However, it is important to note that scholarship awards are more competitive than admission and rarely will they cover 80% of tuition. Likewise, you are applying in the final rounds after many seats and most awards have already been offered to other applicants. An alternative might be for you to wait and apply in round 1 of next year to give yourself the best chance for both admission and scholarship awards.

The school selection sticky is the 7th one at the top of the Stacy Blackman section on this forum.

There are very few programs that offer January entry. For those that do, it usually means you forgo an internship as you take classes during the summer instead. Likewise, many programs that offer January entry require more prerequisites in terms of coursework. Just be sure to research the requirements of any programs you identify with a January start, as well as how the structure and resources might be different to ensure it will meet your expectations.
